Rev. Corinne Freedman Ellis began her ministry at Macalester Plymouth United Church in May of 2016. She was drawn to the congregation’s authenticity, social justice commitments, intergenerational community, and passionate staff. Corinne loves working with our congregation’s 6th-12th graders, planning and leading creative and collaborative worship, providing pastoral care 1:1 and in small groups, and building beloved community together.
Corinne is from the western Chicago suburbs and graduated from Northwestern University (BA in Anthropology and Economics, 2011) and Yale Divinity School (MDiv, 2014). She grew up PC(USA) until age 10 and UCC thereafter – a perfect fit for our united church! Now, Corinne lives in the Hamline-Midway neighborhood of St. Paul with her husband (a software engineer), daughter (a 2-year-old delight/chaos monster), and dog (an elderly Italian greyhound). Hobbies and interests include running, yoga, crocheting, and allergy-friendly cooking. She is trained as a birth doula and loves reading and talking about the intersection of embodiment and spirituality.
