Dr. Brad Bradshaw has been serving in the field of music ministry since the age of eleven when he began as a chorister of the Hope Lutheran Chancel Choir in his hometown of Ladysmith, Wisconsin. He continued his music education at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Vocal Performance. Brad proceeded to obtain his Master of Music, Doctor of Musical Arts, and teaching degrees at the University of Minnesota. In addition to his solo vocal career, he has been an active professional choral director and teacher in the Twin Cities and greater Minnesota area. Brad is a member of the American Choral Directors Association, the National Teachers of Singing, the American Guild of Organists, and the Hymn Society based in Washington, DC.
Brad serves as the Director of Music at Macalester Plymouth United Church where he conducts the Chancel Choir, Chapel Choir, and Alleluia Choir. Employing music as a medium to elevate the word of God and develop beauty in the world, Brad is guided by the principle that everyone has a place in music, and that through the gift of music, we are able to not only experience the love of God, we can motivate and change the world for a more peaceful and sustainable future.
When not in church, Brad teaches music at Gatewood Elementary School in Hopkins, Minnesota. He also enjoys spending time with his family in Minneapolis and Wisconsin–including his husband and two four-legged canine children.
