Learning

Adult Forum
Programs for adults are offered at 11:15 am on Sundays throughout the program year. From speakers on topical social justice issues, to invitations into new spiritual practices, to discussions about scripture and worship, these forums are an opportunity to learn and connect. Check out the church calendar to see what’s coming up!

Women’s Bible Study
This group meets on the third Thursday of the month, September to May, from 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. in the Conference Room. The Women’s Study will begin a new study on Thursday, Sept. 20th, 2018. We will use a Kerugma study guide: Amos and Hosea Boundaries, Tough Love, Amazing Grace. Rev. Jeanyne Slettom will lead our discussions this Fall. The Bible Study is open to all women, both members and friends of MPUC. It offers an rich opportunity for expanding our knowledge of the Bible as well as coffee and fellowship. Study guides are available in the Church office for $20.

Feedback from a previous session: “I thought Jeanyne did a fantastic job of expanding and explaining the material, teasing out some of the implications so that we could think about it beyond the literal words on the page, and facilitating the discussion.” Come visit us and see what we’re about! To join the group and receive email updates, contact the church office.

Music

Grow through music with the Chancel Choir and the Handbell Choir.

Fellowship

As a congregation, we value opportunities to gather in community to get to know each other, grow in faith, and just have fun! The Congregational Fellowship Committee sponsors a number of events each year that promote connection and fellowship. The church calendar has the most up-to-date information about upcoming events and activities, but here are a few you can expect:

Mac Plymouth Young Adults
Young adults in the congregation are invited to monthly gatherings to get to know one another. Locations vary. Contact Rev. Corinne Freedman Ellis for more information and to get on the email list.

55-Plus Fellowship
Through our 55-Plus Fellowship program, we offer numerous opportunities for older members of our congregation to socialize and learn, including special events and holiday programs.

Men’s & Women’s Breakfasts
Each month, there are breakfasts that you can be a part of! On the first Saturday, women gather from 8:30am-10am, and on the third Saturday, men gather from 8am-9:30am. We aren’t about gender binaries here: head to the breakfast that feels most authentic to the way you identify. Breakfasts are held in the social hall and are potluck style. If you want to join the email lists for these breakfasts, please email the church office or call at 651-698-8871.

Book Group
The Book Group generally meets on the first Monday of the month in the Conference Room. Please check the church calendar for updates!

Craft Afternoon
Each month, a group of people gather on the third Saturday from 11am-6pm for crafting fun! We provide the tables and the community, you bring your craft project and a snack to share. Knitters, crocheters, scrapbookers, painters, woodcarvers, writers, and all kinds of crafters are welcome! Please contact Penny Heubach if you have questions.

Parents Conversation Group
This is an opportunity to gather informally and get to know other parents. Topics of conversation will be generated by the group. Come when you can; a weekly commitment is not required. Hosted by Kelly Stone, Megan Voorhees, and Vanessa Martin.
