This year’s women’s retreat will reflect on the legacy that was created by the national ecumenical conference: “Re-imagining …God, the Community, the Church” which was held 25 years ago at the Minneapolis Convention Center. A group of fifteen woman and one man from MPUC were among the 2200 participants in what was to become a historic event. Scholars and clergy from across the country urged us to reimagine Christianity as if women really mattered. Many of the ideas and discussions of feminist theology which were labeled as radical by some have now become mainstream.
At this year’s retreat, Rev. Corrine Freedman Ellis and Rev. Jeanyne Slettom will lead members in a reflection on the themes of the Re-imagining Conference and help us to consider the legacy we are leaving for the next 25 years.
