ISAIAH Update – 2020 Election

The 2020 elections are very important for Minnesotans and for our nation. As a member of ISAIAH we are committed to ensuring that faith-based issues such as climate change, health care, affordable housing and driver’s licenses for immigrants are on Minnesota’s legislative agenda.

One of our goals for a multi-faith and multi-racial democracy is to significantly increase participation in the statewide caucuses on February 25, 2020. In 2018, many MPUC members participated in the caucuses for the first time and were amazed at how easy and satisfying the experience was! We view the caucuses as a key opportunity to have input on the 2020 election agenda. In order to get the word out about the caucuses, ISAIAH is holding Leadership Assembly training workshops.

At the Leadership Assembly trainings, we will be trained to facilitate, co-host or support house meetings leading up to the February 25 caucuses. The house meetings will give people the tools they need to be effective participants in their caucus meetings.

The MPUC ISAIAH Core Team would like to bring 40 members of our church to the ISAIAH St. Paul Leadership Assembly on November 23 being held here in St. Paul. The faith-based values that ISAIAH stands for are the values our church members are passionate about. Please join us and get involved early in helping to set the agenda and to encourage civic engagement.

For more information and to sign up for the Leadership Assembly on November 23, please come to the ISAIAH table in the social hall after church services for the next three Sundays in November. If you have questions, feel free to call a member of the ISAIAH Core Team. This is an opportunity to put our faith in action.
